«È stato curioso ricevere una commissione dall’AI, lo strumento considerato capace di “risolvere ogni problema”, un vero deus ex machina. Mi sono chiesto come avrebbe creato la mia illustrazione. Ho voluto combinare due mondi lontani: mezzi di trasporto e animali. Il risultato è stato una chimera grafica che mi sono davvero divertito a realizzare. Adoro i serpenti e il treno sfrecciante mi ha dato l’opportunità di creare il dinamismo che cerco, con quel pizzico d’oriente che mi piace tanto: il muso ispirato ai bullet train giapponesi».

Christian Romano è un illustratore pugliese che vive a Milano. Ha lavorato per anni in agenzie di comunicazione come graphic designer e illustratore e in quest’ultimo anno ha scelto di concentrarsi sull’illustrazione freelance. Il suo stile si distingue per contrasti cromatici audaci, anatomie esagerate, dinamismo, linee pulite e l’influenza degli anime e delle stampe giapponesi.
About the Project
“It was a curious experience to receive a brief from AI, a tool often considered capable of ‘solving every problem,’ a true deus ex machina. I wondered how it would construct my illustration, so I decided to pair two distant worlds: transportation and animals. The result was a graphic chimera that was a blast to create. I love snakes, and the speeding train gave me the perfect opportunity to inject the dynamic energy I always strive for, along with that touch of the Orient I adore: the front end of the train taking inspiration from Japanese bullet trains.”
The Artist
Christian Romano is an illustrator from Puglia based in Milan. After working for years as a graphic designer and illustrator in creative agencies, he chose over the past year to focus on freelance illustration. His style is characterized by bold color contrasts, exaggerated anatomy, dynamic motion, clean lines, and a distinct influence from anime and Japanese prints.
